Onion Chutney

I just love onion chutney. If you ask me what is my favorite food, it will be Onion Chutney and Dosa. That is just a deadly combination. My mom makes the best Ulli Chamandi/Vengaya Chutney/Onion chutney. The one below is the simple one though there are variations and I make it when I dont have tomatoes or coconut at home. So you also try this and Happy Cooking...

Ingredients:

Onion - 3 big
Dry Red chilli - 4-5
Coriander powder - 1 tbsp
Green Coriander leaves - 5 tbsp
Salt to taste
Oil - 1 tbsp

Method:

In a kadhai/pan add oil. Add cubed onions and dry red chillies.

Add coriander powder and cook till onions are translucent.

Add coriander leaves and cook until they are soft.

Let the mixture cool down and then grind it to a smooth paste. If you wish, you can keep the paste coarse. I love it smooth.  :-)

Tips: You can use coriander seeds instead of powder. You can add tomato or tamarind pulp and make this.
